ZOO: As this point I'm just eager to see Louisville recoup a few of the many tax dollars we send off to Frankfort. It's so rare that Louisville gets back even half of the tax revenue that we forward to the cronies in Frankfort. The new arena may serve as a catalyst to propel Louisville to new heights or it may be something of a dud. At this point, I think that it is a chance we have to take.

that is a BIG chance we the people are going to have to pony up at least 6.5 million and as much as 10.6 million for 30 years that is a lot of money for a building that i will never get to go to. This will be a playground for the rich and the politicians to play in at MY expense Mad Mad

here is part of a story at wave's news site: City residents will shell out up to $309 million over the next 30 years to pay for a downtown arena.

The obligation came after a 5-2 vote by the metro council budget committee. The full council is expected to vote on the Memorandum of Agreement with the Louisville Arena Authority at its meeting Thursday.

While the dollar figures are expected to sail through without much opposition, the committee's decision to remove a clause requiring union participation in the project was removed.

The committee declined to require a Project Labor Agreement between the arena authority and contractors who will build the $400 million dollar structure at the L.G. & E site on the waterfront. the cost keep going up.and this white elephant will get built no matter what the cost,or how much we have to pay.come hell or high water it will get built Frowner
