Lotteries and scratch offs are taxation! Taxation for the ignorant. They are hoping and praying that they will become rich when the odds of that is astronomical. They don't see any payoff for them for better libraries. This is utterly selfish and a shame!

I still see it as a deceptive tax that will be squandered, and will not be used for the library. They always label a new tax so you feel guilty if you do not vote for it. It may be called the orphans tax to prevent starvation but in reality the 40 million they take from us will go into the general fund and be spent on anything they want. They will probably vote themselves a pay raise before even considering what else to spend it on. It is always suspicious when they submit it a short time before the vote so no one has time to research it properly and get the word out. I am voting no on the new 40 million dollar tax "labeled as the library tax".
