I don't like Anne Northup because she has been like Bush's lap dog in recent years but I don't like John Yarmuth because he's seems to be such an elitist. What do I do??? What do I do???

I think you will have to weigh for yourself which is the lesser of the two evils. I agree that Yarmuth has an elitist attitude. Having grown up in the south end of Jefferson county, I take offense at some of his comments.
I have met Northup more than once and liked what I saw... but I do not live in that district so I have no say -so in this vote.

What I really hate about Northup is the nasty, nitpicking tone of Northup's campaign. Rather than campaign on her accomplishments and beliefs, she decided to attempt a character assassination on John Yarmuth. The speech you've heard lately regarding John Yarmuth's scarcity around Louisville's south end is an excerpt from a speech Yarmuth gave entitled "Why You Are Wrong" at a 1996 conference in Louisville organized by the editors of a newsletter called American Renaissance (a white supremacist group). In the speech, Yarmuth was denouncing other conference speakers and rebutting their conclusions about blacks. I think it is incredible that the Northup campaign would go so far at to order this speech contained on a DVD off of the American Renaissance Web site after doing a Google search just to dig up some dirt on Yarmuth. That strikes me as an act of desperation.

I think most of the campaigning I have seen has focused on "why you should not vote for my opponant" rather than, "here is why I should represent you."
I find it all very disgusting.

I am a Republican and live in southern Indiana, but if I lived in Louisville, I would definitely vote for Yarmuth. I have watched him on the news and on Hot Button and he seems a lot more honest and for the citizens than Northup. Even the colored in the West End have said she has lied on what she has done for them.
