As far as the 'Islam question' is concerned, the two are very different. Jewish people never had believers going out in the name of Judaism and blowing themselves (and others) up. Jewish people have never suggested that all people who refuse to convert to Judaism be put to death.
The question of Islam's propensity to violence needs to be examined regardless of some people's naivety. Blind and misplaced trust can be deadly when dealing with people unafraid to kill themselves in order to exterminate us in the process.
"Blind and misplaced trust"
Remember that line.
You are still generalizing a vast majority based on a very small minority.
If Christians were judged by the same measure (which they are by terrorists) then all Christians could be viewed as ignorant militants with a very long history of violence, racism and aggression towards non-Christians.
Do you really want to get into that kind of argument?
It is simply childish that YOU, just like you’re “Islamic extremists” use the same tactics to affirm you’re egos and the divinity of your actions.
Questioning faith and ideas, instead of actions is what got us into this mess in the first place.
When Regan felt comfortable giving these people weapons and the kind of political power they would later use to take over Afghanistan, he wasn’t even looking at their actions behind the lines.
He was only interested in an ally against Communism.
An idea and an enemy so scary and dangerous that it washed our ability to see clearly what was happening.
It has been the same way ever since.
We have bases in Saudi Arabia and the Bush’s LOVE the Saudi Royals. Our Secret Service does patrols for the Saudi Embassy in Washington. You don’t see them doing that for many other Embassies.
Lets not forget that Halliburton moved to Dubai last year.
Why does the largest military and infrastructure contractor in the US need to move to ANOTHER country run by an Islamic regime that the WE KNOW is fanatic?
A very small regime and a minority of idealism among Islam, mind you.
These are some things you might want to start questioning.
How many of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi’s?
How many times has an OPEC cost report ever been seriously questioned by THIS administration?
Why is it that the US has NEVER even been considered for OPEC membership in all the years OPEC has existed?
What ever happened to that lawsuit Kentucky had filed against the oil companies for price gauging?
Where are the regular reports you would think we would be getting on the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden?
Why does was this administration satisfied with only vague reports about osama bin laden yet they are intimately focused on countries and events that had nothing to do with 9/11?
What is going on with Iran right now?
These points are pretty valid and they have nothing to do with the faith of any person or persons involved.
Simply their ACTIONS that warrant honest questioning.
They are also much more specific and to the point.
Yet, you want to sit and question a general population based on their faith as apposed to their actions.
Hmmmmmmmmmm, who else does that?
What about the Ivory Coast Islamic nations? Would you question them? DO YOU?
Croatia?!
I often see that not too many like yourself ever question the WHITE Muslims in the same way.
But I’m sure now that I have mentioned them; you will pick up a book, find out about them and find something to judge them with as well.
Because at the end of the day, you just don’t like their kind.
That is all it boils down to.
Well, that is how wars start and it is how we demean ourselves as Children of god (no matter what god you prescribe to).
You think blindly AND you judge blindly.
How are YOU to be trusted?
If we were in confessional and I just heard you spew the kind of paranoid and hateful garbage you have been talking about in this thread, I would seriously consider you NOT to be a man of any god.
You must be an atheist or just a REALLY ignorant Christian.
But that could just be a blind Generalization on my part.
See how that works?
