I was appalled that this man would so blatantly and stupidly accept bribes for votes!! I hope that there will truly be some reforms taking place in our Congress. The suspicion of bribery, covered carefully, is high, and I don't believe that there is one Representative or Senator who can't be considered. Lobbying has gotten so out of hand that "We, the People" haven't been represented in a long time (if ever). The prosecuter made 8 years sound like a "stiff sentence". I'm inclined to believe betrayal of this kind should carry even more punishment.
What amazed me about Randy Cunningham is that he pretty much had the alligator tears that most shoplifters have when they get caught. 'I'm so sorry. I'll never do it again!' sort of plea. The only thing he was sorry about is that he got caught. Period. End of story.

He's not very bright to think he wouldn't get caught, either, after leaving a paper trail the size of a behemoth! Amazing to me that it took so long for someone to notice.
