Group Wants City To Fund 'Derby Tailgating Party' On West Broadway

Isn't that essentially what we've had thus far - lots of blocked roadways???

Yeah, and I need money to help pay my LG&E bill. Any body want to pitch in on that???

Makes sense to me!!! If they don't do it for these so-called white events, why should they do it for a largely black event???

Didn't the city try sponsoring a hip-hop concert and wasn't that same concert a monumental flop???

Mr. Owens' statement about "keeping peace and harmony in the community" almost sounds like blackmail/implied threat.
Having lived in Louisville only 4 years, Derby is not a big deal or tradition for me. However, it appears to me that all the participants pay some big bucks to attend events or have their own little parties at home. Publicly funding a particular group, no matter what they call themselves, does not appeal to me. Tax money should not be used in such frivilous ways!! They are certainly way too many and high to suit me, anyway!!

That's nothing news. Any time there's a police shooting, the chant is always, "No justice, no peace." Isn't that a thinly-veiled threat???
