Hold on there, M.J. If you checked out the linked video, you would have seen that these young people were in public venues holding signs saying, "Free hugs". I am employed with JCPS and the FIRST thing they taught us in New Hire Class is "Do NOT,under any circumstances hug a student,touch a student,not even a high five,do not allow any student to hug you or hop up on your lap,or hug you."
Also:
"Do not encourage hugs between students."
"If you see or know of such things going on,stop it right away."
This prevents MISunderstandings. This protects everyone as long as they follow the rule(s).
Nothing about hand shakes was mentioned.
