I seen on wave 3 today about the senate trying to pass new immigration laws.My opinion: I think that america has always been the big melting pot,no one that lives here is truely white,we all come from somewhere else, and if we didn't then someone in our family has. But, I think something should be done.I think there is a simple answer. If everyone that crosses a border had to pay taxes and follow our rules, from the moment they cross,no freebies, then maybe less people would want to be here.I don't get anything for free and feel that immigrants shouldn't either.I wasn't givin a five year time not to pay taxes,I didn't receive help from the state for being an immigrant, and I had to qaulify for the job I have.I think that everyone should be treated equally no matter where you are from.

Everyone has the right to be here, but if they(whomever is not a citizen here) choose not to make it legal then they should be sent back home. It should not be so easy to get here to begin with.

Sorry, AW, but not everyone has a right to be here in this country. That's why they are referred to as "illegal".
Being from a 'border state', this is not a new debate. Texas, N. Mex., Ariz. and Calif. have had this influx for decades. We had pregnant women show up in our hospitals ready to deliver, knowing they would not be turned away, give birth to a citizen ( Roll Eyes) and be signed up immediately for all the amenities our great nation offers. Don't tell me they all come to work!! Oh, the stories I could tell.

Here is a real chance to make progress on this thorny issue.Who in the world said that it is everyone´s right to reside in the United States? It has always been a privilege to be a United States citizen and now it is time to carve it in stone, forever.

Umm yes they do have a right. Did you miss the part where they have to become legal?
