Hmmm. Agreed on both counts. In hindsight... the term "respect" might not be the best word. How about 'impartial' as an alternative. I served on jury duty not too long ago, it refreshed my sense of innocent until proven guilty.
We know so little about the case at all. Would people have a change of heart if it were found out this woman had a brain tumor or some provable and treatable medical condition which caused her attack? There's no doubt in my mind she "did it", but bypassing due process and taking her straight to the lethal injection table might not provide the rest of the family the answers they're looking for.
Animal feces in the house but not her room. Financial troubles. Unwarranted fear that the state was going to take her kids. Dunno... paranoid schizophrenia? Bipolarism? Depression? One thing is clear tho, she didn't do this for personal gain, self defense, or because she's overly mean. According to the article posted earlier in the thread:
"Strong, good mother, did everything for her kids," said neighbor Patty Schneider. "Boy scouts, girl scouts, she was involved with everything."In some of these cases, the parent doing the killing is after a different lifestyle, insurance money, to exact revenge on another parent in particularly nasty custody cases etc. But I don't get that sense in this one. Will be interesting to see where it goes.
