US declares public health emergency for swine flu

A modern day pandemic. Imagine that. Wonder how many people we'll lose??? First AIDS, now swine flu. Seems we're not quite as invincible as we fancy ourselves.

Ya' know, I just can't get too excited about this doomsday "pandemic" prediction. Somebody in this country is predicting a doomsday scenario constantly. Chicken Little is alive and well in many personas.

Aids is not a pandemic, it is an epidemic.
The difference is important.

Pandemics come from these new mutated strains of common diseases that spread very easily in our part of the world due to a lack of ethical health care.
When so many people walk around with no source of preventative medicine for common diseases,
Those common diseases mutate into uncommon diseases.

Right now the common flu, staph and flesh eating strains are being passed around so much that pandemics of their mutated strains are erupting in different areas almost every year.
Soon, we will see the epidemic level mutations take hold.
THEN the fun begins.
