Why was WAVE 3 Sunrise dropped as a discussion category?

Oh give me a break!

Your last post to that board was August 8th.

Since most of the topics were not specific to the Sunrise show and that show has decided not to utilize it, the producers asked to have it unlinked from the Sunrise section of the site. Having it languish here seemed pointless.

Wave3 Listens isn't getting very many hits either. Ok any suggestions to wake this place back up? Man we had regulars before that dunce crashed our old board. Arrrrgh!

With all due respect to Admin (past, present, and future), I think a large part of the problem is that much of the 'joy' has been taken out of the WAVE 3 forums. While I can easily understand how WAVE 3 doesn't want the forums to degrade to the point where it might reflect badly on the station or its staff, I wonder if the Admin could give people credit for having the intelligence to realize that,

"The opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect those of WAVE 3 or its management."

Therefore, I would like to make a plea that the Admin consider restoring some features to the WAVE 3 forums such as Private Messaging, Chat, and/or Display Name Change. Perhaps, at some point, consideration could even be given to eliminating or reducing moderation of posts. (Perhaps moderation could be reserved for new posters or posters could be quickly put on moderation for any violation of T.O.S. at all.)

I will be the first to acknowledge that I have not always conducted myself like a perfect angel. (A fun pun on one of our long-time forum posters.) I've generally tried to conduct myself, though, in Christian and adult-like manner.

As it stands right now, there's no way to initiate contact with another forum poster without posting an e-mail address for all the world to see. We are all aware of the dangers of meeting strangers from contacts on the internet. I met several other people at a local restaurant from the WAVE 3 forums about a year ago. We all had a nice time (although we wished the turnout had been higher) and no one got killed, robbed, or otherwise harmed.

Again, I realize that station management is understandably concerned with the potential impression that people might make of what goes on in its forums. It just seems as if the heart has been gutted out of what used to be a lively and usually friendly debate.

I appreciate the chance to express my thoughts on this matter. I hope consideration might be given to the issues I have brought up. Thanks in advance.
