well, I have finally dusted off the water sprinkler. The lawn is absolutely crunchy, but I am just focusing on the young trees and scrubs. My pond is the lowest I have seen it in many years..... Sure could use some major rain!

I have a tree that I planted last fall and I almost lost it because I wasn't watering it. All the leaves on it browned out. Now that I've started watering it every other night, it's greening up again.

I reverted to my childhood today..... I was watering a flower bed that was in great need of being weeded. Way too hot to be out there working, but with the sprinkler going, it was quite nice! The watering made it easier to pull the weeds and the "rain" made it totally comfortable to be working. Course, when I was done, I was soaking wet and had to enter the house via the laundry room, but it was kinda fun!

yes, we did get a bit, but I would say it was less than 10 min here. We must have been on the edge as there was not even a tenth of an inch in the rain gage. We live a bit north west of the city. That kind of rain does more harm than good as it encourages shallow root growth. I did a really heavy watering on my willow trees, plum trees and the flower gardens. I kinda liked that playing in the sprinkler, I think I will do it again one evening this week!
