What has happened in our community that was so horrible to justify the constant coverage of "Serious Weather Situations"? Come on, if you live in these areas, you already know of the damage. Sirens were audible all over the city. It seems that the station (WAVE 3) puts camera men and reporters in harms way only to scare and cause unnecessary fear. And all this to boost advertising income. Please respond if you agree.
I don't agree, but, I have to say something anyway.
Alisa, the continuous weather coverage is devoid of commercials as I view it on my television. I doubt that WAVE3 is immediately increasing its advertising revenue by skipping commercials.
I think those "follow-up" reports of damage lend credence to the predictions of their forecasts. In other words, those post-storm reports make me fully realize that those analyses by the WAVE3 Weather Crew were certainly accurate. I absolutely appreciate those post-storm video packages if only for the forecast reliability feedback.
Alisa, were you watching John and Kevin this evening? Weren't you convinced that there were truly conditions for possible tornado damage? Didn't you follow their analyses of the storm track? It was amazing. The very areas they said were being hit actually were hit. I'm glad--thoughly glad--it was only minor damage. I have friends and family in those areas. I appreciate the post-storm WAVE3 coverage that makes me aware that those I know and love are not suffering from the storm--a storm that seems to have had the potential for widespread death and destruction.
WAVE3 Weather! That crew just amazes me over and over and over. Forecasts are execptionally reliable. Alert levels are expertly proportioned to the impending threat. I totally rely upon WAVE3 Weather.
One thing for sure: We can always turn off the boob-tube. In our house? We watch Tom, John, and Kevin so much we think they are part of the family.
