I agree that it is unfortunate that someone so young made so many bad choices that led to the loss of his life. Regardless of his age (which I am fairly certain was not advertised at the time of his death), he was armed and presented a threat to the officer. He apparently thought this was great fun and quite the adventure (turned an winked at a friend as he was running?!?). The bottom line is that he made the choices that led to his death.

This kid was definitely not innocent. He was supposed to be on home incarceration but he had cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet. (Darn those pesky bracelets - a guy can't have any fun.) He had also allegedly robbed a pizza delivery guy. This kid 'wasted' his time getting a diploma or GED. Who needs a diploma once you've discovered how much easier it is just to stick a gun or knife and take whatever they've worked for. I'm glad the police took out this little punk - better him than one of us!

As Zoo pointed out he made his bed out of nails so now he has to lay in it,however I didn't know he had been in previous trouble. This makes me ponder as a parent how come that boys parent(s) didn't make arrangements for someone to check in on the boy. I don't mean any disrespect to the family nor their friends,it's just when your kid gets into trouble you have even MORE of a responsibility to make sure he or she doesn't get into anymore. I guess I'm just not understanding why nobody was keeping tabs on him.

one would think that his family would have been aware of his home incarceration bracelet. Therefore, maybe they would have noticed that he was not at home? Course, when you read his family's comments, you would be lead to believe that he had turned his life around. Guess that would explain why he cut off the bracelet and was robbing a house and carrying a gun.... Yeah, he was really turning his life around. I can't say I am glad he was killed as I am sure that will weigh heavily on the family and the officer. I do think it is a terrible shame but again, he made the choices so there is no one but him to blame.
