I saw the story on the Nashville news this morning. Checked out Wave 3 and MSNBC and found it was apparently not a top line story.
Amazing.
I hope this guy's political and private career is totally toasted. What a total jerk.
Cheating is bad enough, but during a time when his wife was (and still is) fighting cancer, to fiddle around....
Total lack of integrity. I had kinda cheered for him when he began his campaigne for president even though I did not agree with alot of his views.
I am so glad now that he bowed out early.... possibly because of the skelatons in his closet?

Ever notice how many men ruin their lives over sexual encounters??? I think part of it is just a man's nature. Part of it is a lack of control. I suspect John Edwards didn't set out to make this affair happen. It is sad all the way around. His political career is toast and his wife, I'm sure, is very hurt. Frowner Frowner Frowner

"" I think part of it is just a man's nature. Part of it is a lack of control.""
What do you mean a part of mans nature? What ,a man can not control his lust long enough to get home to his wife? That is a mans excuse. The real thing is they dont want to control their lust. They want to roll in the hay with what ever is willing. A man CAN control his desires .And a man can have control over his body. Without getting graphic, you know what I am saying. Roll Eyes

I agree, Angel.
To say it is "man's nature" is an excuse to absolve men from blame for being unfaithful.
While he may or may not have initiated first contact, I don't recall seeing in his statement that he was raped. No, he was a consenting adult who betrayed his wife's trust during a time when she most needs his support.

Besides the cheating, I don't understand these guys in high profile positions who think that they can behave this way and have it go unnoticed. I really have to question his intelligence.

Piedmont doctor faces charges of attempted lewd acts with child after caught on ‘Dateline NBC’

It's not just a matter of waiting thirty minutes until a man gets home to his wife. Something more powerful is at work here. NBC Dateline featured a piece on a Dr. Maurice Wollen of the Petaluma, California area. Dr. Maurice Wollen was a renowned cancer doctor married with two daughters. He is accused of having an online conversation resulting in a meeting for sex with someone he believed to be 13 years old. My question to you is this: why would an accomplished, well respected doctor attempt to have sex with a thirteen year-old??? He certainly knew how much he could lose. He had obviously made a lot of good decisions to become a cancer doctor. This has to be more than just a momentary indiscretion. Confused Confused Confused
