Fatal shooting involves police officer

Reverend Coleman won't have a problem with the circumstances of the shooting and Christopher 2X won't be standing beside the family as they decry police tactics. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Frowner that he was 16. Very upsetting.

Roll EyesNo input on Coleman and X. They don't back me and I don't need them.

FrownerParents of the youngster I feel for, however I have a 6,9,and 14 year old who KNOWS if you do bad things that bad things will happen to you. I only pray they never decide to see just how bad things can get.

As a mother I would be p*ssed and very angry as a natural reaction to losing a loved one,but I would also have to realize I obviously didn't keep check on my child and be partly to blame. The other part is on my child. People at the age of 6 know not to touch a gun or try to steal so I can't have justification for the 2 teens to be doing it.
People tend to forget that the officers involved are people too and can have their life taken just as fast as they can take a life. Lashing out at them isn't going to fix the situation. It won't answer the WHY did my kid do such an ignorant thing. WHY did the cop shoot 5-10 times(whatever). It won't take away the pain and heartache to want the officer to go down. Nobody stops to think what the heck! My boy coulda killed that man doing his job. Naturally because they are dazed and confused and very upset, but even when folks calm down they still do not speak about how their child could have just as easily killed the officer.
As I said I'd be angry, but I'd be angry at myself and my child as well. When the cops get blamed in this kind of situation it's because the parents, siblings, family and friends won't accept their part of the responsibility. Had the boy been 18 he wouldn't have been any less forgotten, however once they hit that age momma and daddy can't be blamed anymore. Everyone KNOWS law says 18 is legally an adult so you either will act like one or go down as a kid in an adults body.

I agree 100%. It seems that pushing the blame and not taking responsiblity is the norm....

I agree with you mj that people today take no responseability for their actions. They do something wrong, blame the other person,it`s not my fault. Granted there may be some that are not taught the way they should be,but still common sense wins out or should win out when it comes to a gun pointed at someone. In this day and time, unless someone has been keep in total isolation, they know how to behave themselves. There are schools, churchs, neighbors to set some type of example. People today are all too much "it is your fault, not mine! " type of attitude. I am just sick of hearing all the stupid excuses ! Mad

Mj this is why a lot of our children are the way they are, because of the parent.
