I think west enders need to open up a realistic dialogue with the mayor and police chief about what is obtainable for next year. Don't file a lawsuit - that just gets everyone to clam up. And don't bring it up a week or two before Derby - the planning has already been done and the staffing schedules made out.

Every thing that could be done to avoid a Broadway shutdown was tried. One year they even tried 'sweeping' Broadway at a given time and closing all the I-65 interstate exits out to I-264. Do you really think the white people and out-of-town guests like that? I know I didn't!

Does it hurt when a black child in the westend must go pass a Russian Style Blockade. Their parents question about a pass. Yet Illegal immigrants cross America's borders everyday and they have more respect than a black family. How can you speak for the westend if you don't live in the westend.
