Why would he even try ? Dosent he know he MAY get caught? Dosent he know he MAY ruin the rest of his life for trying to fool around with a child? Maybe I have been married too long,I just dont understand .Is the thrill worth loosing everything for a moment of so called pleasure?

It's a sickness. It has nothing to do with what another woman will do or is willing to do. It's a sickness. One I don't think can be fixed with jail time. There needs to be something else done regarding these pedophiles because they will not and are not going to stop preying on our children.

I can only hypothesize as to why a man would take a chance on ruining his career and jeopardizing his freedom. My guess is that young girls (or young boys) are sometimes prized for their youth and vitality. I suppose a young female (or young guy) can be something of a trophy for a guy. Youth usually are in the prime of their life as far as looks and health. In other cases, maybe the men are looking for someone who they can manipulate. Perhaps these men are selfish so-and-so's who don't want to have to meet someone else's needs.

In some case, maybe it's the taboo factor at play. Much like some people shopift when they have the money, perhaps some men go for teens because it's a forbidden fruit. I suppose that the extreme risk involved may give some predators a 'rush' if you will. Once they've gotten away with it, it's very likely they'll try again.

Men are almost always the culprits. NBC's To Catch a Predator had only one female ever contact them. The female wanted to set up a three way but never followed through. With women, I suspect, sex is important but secondary to a feeling of 'emotional security'. Therefore, anonymous cruising on the internet doesn't hold an appeal for them. Keep in mind that we had a high school choir director who was convicted and imprisoned about ten years ago for a sexual liaison with a 14 year old student. The choir director was well liked, had won multiple awards for the school and took the high school choir to both of President Clinton’s inaugurals. It was such a loss for both the teacher and the school.

I have a difficult time seeing this as a sickness. Sickness implies that the individual has no choice.
I think these people do have a choice but for whatever reason are so arrogant and perverted that they choose to indulge themselves without regard to how many lives they destroy in the process.
