Tman have you talked to them lately?

He doesn't intend to pay his assessment and he's very upset at the prospect of having a lien put on his house with it possibly affecting his credit.

I was told he paid it,but he only paid it because he was told the HomeOwners votes wouldn't count if it wasn't paid. I seen some signs up saying Vote NO to the HOA,and the rumor mill says he put them up. LOL @ him. He can be funny sometimes.

I've known the guy since high school. Whatever he believes, he believes very strongly and he's willing to fight for it (literally). In the case of the Hunters Creek HOA, I can't blame him. The HOA seems to be very ineffective at collecting dues owed it. I don't know what avenues Kentucky state law allows for HOA's to collect delinquent HOA dues. My friend’s wife told me that without a social security number, it's impossible to get a private collection agency to handle it. I would still think that putting a lien on a house would be an effective way to get someone's attention. Supposedly, however, the lien doesn't get satisfied until the property is sold so that doesn't help the immediate financial situation of the Hunters Creek HOA.

A lot of what is hurting Hunters Creek is the general real estate market in general. Foreclosures are up and Hunters Creek has more than its fair share of foreclosed homes due to the easy qualifying that Dominion Homes offered. Many homes in Hunters Creek were financed with no money down and that brought in some who weren't ready for the financial stresses of home ownership. I'm sure it's very disheartening to see the neighborhood you bought into go downhill so quickly. My friend tells me that a lot of the homes in Hunters Creek are now worth less than they were purchased for. You're both in my prayers. Confused

It's sickening, but he is right! Frowner

I thought ya'll talked often. Well it went. Well ok here it goes...

He went off and I chilled him out. He went off and they told him to sit down and chill or he was going to have to leave. He said make me,they said hush,he said make me,I said hush,he said ok. I told him we all are with him on being mad, however if he keeps yelling at them or yelling over them then nobody can hear what is being said and by whom so to take a deep breath and be quiet for a minute. LOL! So anyways We all found out from not one,but 2 lawyers that was there that we can not vote if it comes to monies, and our dues and Special Assessments aren't up to date,HOWEVER we can still vote for anything outside of monies regardless of updates dues,..... So a fella asked how can we get the Voting Percentage brought down from 100% to something fair. The male lawyer said we'd have to call a Special Meeting and at least 2/3 had to be there. We vote and if it gets down then we can another Special Meeting to vote the HOA done with.

"G" wasn't the only one who went off though. There was several others who got so mad they were up out of their seats before they even realized they were standing up. Anyhow all has been quiet.

I am dumbfounded as to why nobody has called the Special Meetings. We haven't heard at all from the 2 board members, however a few people I've talked with back in January '08 have said they now have a lein on their homes. I'm mad because I decied to go on and pay mine and our street lights are still off, this place is STILL the same wreck,...... Mad

I don't even bother with it and haven't since the meeting where nothing was accomplished. Yelling, around in circles, everyone left. I will tell you this though "G" stood up and said a few choice words to them(2 board members and the 2 lawyers) then said "Come on everyone I'm calling this meeting over!" Everyone but 3 people got up and left. I was sitting there like did this just happen,I mean really happen!?! Confused So the President puts her hands up in the air and says well ok it's over! So several of us stood outside talking for awhile. "G" said I can't believe how quiet you were. I said why? He said because I've seen you mad! LOL! I already made my mind up that I wasn't going in mad, because nothing gets settled while angry and it didn't get settled. I told "G" I said said next time your wife is talking SHUSH! He laughed and said ok sorry! He was so mad everytime she talked and they would attempt to respond he'd jump up and start yelling "LIARS ALL OF YOU LIARS!" Her face would get red. Ya shoulda been there. It's not like they were guarding the door to know whom whomever was. The least you would have gotten out of it was a laugh.

I know that 'G' is blaming the HOA for the declining home prices in the neighborhood. I've told him repeatedly that the national housing slump is mostly to blame along with the high number of foreclosed homes there. I never know if he hears me or if he understands me. His home is mortgaged for about $139,000 and I've seen a lot of homes there selling for around $100,000. I'm sure that he's upside down (amount owed compared to amount worth). Confused
