Yes,that was very stupid.

With his age and gender, he could have easily done this woman (or her son) injury or death without use of firearms.

Depends, some chicks could kick his butt. Eeker

What would have been ideal is for one or both of these two to have stopped at a public place or made a turn and thereby break up this rolling argument that was apparently going on. Stupid things happen when stupid meets stupid. Roll Eyes

Agreed.

That may be banned with people like these in the mix.

I believe in the use of if in self defense; but I think that the women and her son should be charged with at least assault if she was found that she was acting in self defense. The reason being that if they got out of the car and were cursing and kicking him.

Something should be done about that indeed.

It's bad enough that she shot him when she could have rolled up the windows and locked the doors.
I agree as long as he didn't have a weapon.

The use of a firearm should only be used as a last resort.

Agreed.

Obviously she had a cell phone why couldn’t she have called the cops before she decided to fire.

Right. She could have fled or if trapped called the police. If he was able to bust her window out that phone could have went upside his head, plus the fact her son wasn't willing to just sit there. So whacked with the phone and a kid biting, pinching, poking, kicking, screaming, pulling hair,clawing,..... whew that would have messed him up. Eeker
I really don't think that this was a case of self defense.

Sounds like there is more than we will know for awhile.

She could have rolled up her windows and locked her door and showed the gun....shooting someone point blank in the chest is definitely a last resort. Then her son kicking the guy while he's on the ground? Hello!!! Sounds like they both have anger issues. Her permit to carry should most definitely be pulled.

I had heard she had used a gun on someone before. Didn't know the details.

Thompson said police also were reviewing a videotape of the incident, which was captured by a security camera at a nearby Thorntons gas station.

"I have just shot somebody up on 10th Street ... near the Thorntons," the 39-year-old Jeffersonville homemaker yelled.
"You did?" the dispatcher asked.
"Yes. He ran up on my car getting ready to open up my door (and) hit me with his fist."
"Ma'am, calm down," the male dispatcher said several times.
"How can I calm down? He tried to hit me," Parrish responded.

Hmmm. <<He ran up on my car getting ready to open up my door>>

So here she dmits he didn't open the door. She assumes he was going to.

<<<(and) hit me with his fist.">>>
