My husband just told me that instead of the usual $2.75 a bale we pay for hay, it will now be $5!

no doubt that as well as the increasing price of grain are factors. Add on to that the lack of rain, so pastures are not holding up well.... the list just goes on and on.
Yes, we have 3 Tenn Walkers. We also have goats, and a pot belly pig that eat hay.

I was wondering how much Alfalfa hay is today if anyone knows? I know it's not a good subject to bring up but does anyone know yet how bad the poor tobacco farmers are going to make out this year? I have to think about them becauce that's how i got new shoes for school growing up! OH and food on the table.
