Look who's talking. Some country bumpkin who likes living in a rural area but doesn't want to pay the costs associated with living in the boonies. On top of that, you want those of us who live in urban areas to cry you a river because phone and cable companies don't want to deploy broadband in areas where they can't do so profitably.

Newt: You made your choice to live out in the sticks. Either deal with the consequences (limited internet choices) or move back to the city. Next thing you'll want to gripe about is the high cost of gas and how the oil companies ought to give rural folks a discount on gas because they have to travel farther. Boo-hoo. Frowner

Roof, roof!!!

It seems to me that you have to take the good with the bad. As Angel points out elsewhere in this forum, country dwellers can say 'hello' to your neighbors without being arrested for disturbing the peace and country dwellers can also walk outside in their undies if they're so inclined. I guess the price you pay for all this is slow dial-up service or pricey sattelite internet.

Can't you use computers at your school that are hooked up to broadband or T1's??? Confused

UMMMM excuse me,but just because we CHOOSE to live in the "boonies" does not make us all "country bumpkins". And Newt I dont know what service you have, but mine is only $19.99 a month, unlimited access and my phone service is only around $27.00 a month. No long distance.{have cell phone} You live in Springfield so try the other internet service,if it is avaliable to you, dont know exactly where you live, but you may not be able to get the other that is from Btown. It is still dial up, but that is all we can get here. I am not complaining. I like my privacy and the ability to do what I like when I like and how I like with out a lot of prying eyes. Big Grin
