My computer is five years old and runs Windows XP. My Microsoft Word and Window Explorer 7 crash every several days. I've tried deleting and reinstalling Word but that hasn't help.

I have good anti-virus, firewall, and ani-spyware programs. I keep them updated and run tests regularly. Any ideas what's going on here??? Confused

I'm glad to hear that, M.J. I wasn't trying to suggest that it's a normal characteristic of Microsoft Word or Windows Explorer 7. My computer is some what old and I think it's trying to warn me of impending doom. Eeker

Here's an update: I download OpenOffice.org (an freeware application that does word processing among other things) to my computer and used it for a short letter today. It did what I needed and it didn't crash. I still don't know what's up with my computer. I had to stop using my ethernet connection for my cable modem some time back and I've switched back to my ethernet connection this past weekend. I've done a thorough check on my computer for viruses and it comes up clean. Any costructive ideas would be appreciated. Smiler
