I live in a rural area in Springfield, Ky. We do not yet have broadband access in our area. Is anyone else having this problem and does anyone know where I can find out exactly when my area is on the books for the new service? I go to school online and it would really help to get rid of my dialup connection.

That's one of the drawbacks of living out in the boonies - nobody wants to spend the millions of dollars it would take to string coax or fiber optic out to you and DSL doesn't work when you live miles from a central office. Move to Louisville. We've got great housing, great schools and a great metro government. The welcome mat is out for you!

Who says that living in Springfield is in the boonies?? I live in Washington Co. but it also is a place where I dont have to worry about the goofball`s who like to prey on children living next door.We know our neighbor`s and we also know when a stranger is around and we all watch out for the other. We yell "Hello" at the other when they walk outside.Do you do that there in Louisville? You would probably be arrested for disturbing the peace. We also dont have to worry about wearing a mask over our face from all the smog of "the big city" . We can walk outside in our undies if we wanted to. Can you,without getting arrested? Louisville has nothing to offer me,I am very happy here on my little piece of heaven,with my family and all of our animals. {and the smell. }
Joshua 24:15,,,but as for me and my house,we will serve the Lord.

You are living in a very dangerous dream world, Angel if you think that pedophiles don't live in rural areas. The new rules barring them from living within 1000 feet of the edge of a school, playground, etc has pushed many of them out into sparsely populated areas like yours.

Yes, Angel, I know my neighbors and I often greet them by name.

Louisville is not a smog-ridden city. We've made great strides in the last decade regarding air pollution. You would know that if you would visit more frequently.

It's not the threat of arrest that keeps me from going outside in my undies - it's the wisecracks from the neighbors!
