I know that you should pull suckers off tomato plants, but this year I have all plants and hardly any tomatoes, the plants are almost out of control, should I also top them, or is this bad for the plant?
The tomato crop has really suffered this year because of the weather conditions. A cool wet June delayed flower production- and July wasn't much better!
Excessive nitrogen fertilzer can also encourge vegetative growth at the expense of flower and fruit production.
As long as the plants stay healthy enough, you should still get a late crop.
