My hydrangeas have buds at the end of the branches already because it has been so warm. What can i do to ensure they will still bloom in the spring? Last year they didnt bloom at all because of the similar winter we had.

I noticed today that my tea roses are already budding and beginning to leaf out. What can I do? I tried to create a new discussion folder for this but it wouldn't let me....

I also have hydrangeas, oak leaf, but mine bloomed last year. They aren't budding yet. I guess they are slower to bud than yours.

Now that we have had some cold weather, your plants will have shut back down and will virtually stop that leaf out. If the new buds/leaves were damaged by the cold weather, all may not still be lost, many plants have secondary and tertiary buds that they will send out to replace damaged primary buds. Keep them as stress free as possible during this growing season with proper watering and fertilizer applications to ensure they recover from the winter damage.
