I have a 30 yr old mature weeping willow. I have noticed that this year there is moss growing on the north side of the tree. I have heard that moss can eventually kill a tree. How can I stop this, or am I worrying needlessly. It's my favorite tree.

I wouldn't worry about moss growing on the tree trunk, it should be quite harmless. Fungal growth like mushrooms would be another story; that would indicate internal damage.
